Salehi: Russia to help Iran upgrades it centrifuges

Vienna, Sept 16, IRNA Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Ali Akbar Salehi said on Wednesday that Russia has voiced readiness to help Iran upgrade its centrifuges for generation of isotope.

Speaking to reporters after his meeting with the Head of Rosatom Company Sergey Kiriyenko, Salehi said the two sides discussed continued cooperation based on Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Russia as one of the influential members of the G5+1 backed Iran's stands and the country's role in clinching the final deal between Iran and G5+1 was very prominent, Salehi said.

Russia is to help Iran purchase enriched nuclear fuel, Salehi said adding that the two sides also discussed ways for Iran to get natural uranium in return for delivering enriched uranium.

Russia is very powerful in production of constant isotope and have voiced readiness to help Iran upgrade its centrifuges, he said.

Moscow has agreed to financially support Bushehr nuclear power plant, he said.

Iran has invited Rosatom for construction of two new nuclear power plants in Bushehr, Salehi said.
