Lawmaker urges fresh investment in petchem industry

TEHRAN Sept. 14 (Shana) Member of the Majlis (Parliament) Industries and Mines Commission called for new investments in the petrochemical industry in Iran saying the political-economic conditions after the nuclear agreement are ripe to expedite the process.

One of the factors to encourage investors is legal stability of the rules, the MP said, adding that Parliament is determined to lift impediments on the way of joint ventures to launch production units.
The surge in business leads to economic growth, and the petrochemical industry has an important role in the growth, he added.

The lawmaker termed oil and petrochemical industries as advantages of Iran and stressed that for economic development of the country, such advantages should be promoted so that their success is guaranteed.

High profits are also important for investors. Irans oil industry is more lucrative than investment in Europe, which is another advantage for foreign investors, he said.
