The Daesh Takfiri group has kidnapped around 130 Iraqi children in the city of Mosul which is under the control of the terrorist group, an Iraqi Kurdish official says.
The terrorist group has “kidnapped, during the past few days, 127 children aged between 11 to 15 years,” Kurdistan Democratic Party spokesman Saeed Mamouzini was quoted as saying by the Iraqi News online newspaper on Monday.
According to Mamouzini, the children have been transferred to special camps run by the terrorists group in order to “be trained on the use of weapons and implementation of terrorist operations.”
He went on to say that Daesh has “kidnapped hundreds of children” since it began its deadly campaign in Iraq ,and have trained them to carry out bomb attacks.
The Takfiri group, as confirmed by international rights groups, has been recruiting children and exposing them to ultra-extremist Wahhabi ideology and military training in the areas under its control.
An Iraqi boy, who escaped from the terrorist group’s grip, told Press TV earlier this month how he was forced by the terrorist group to carry out terrorist attacks.
“They forced me to do an attack with a truck” on a target, the boy said and quoted Daesh militants as saying, “Go, die, heaven is waiting for you.”
“I wanted to ask them if the heaven was right there, why don’t they go after it, why us,” Fahmi added.
Sheikh Khalid Awad al-Shabani, a tribal leader in the Iraqi province of Anbar, said in July that the Takfiri group is actively trying to lure local children into its ranks as would-be bombers. He added that the terrorist group has set up training camps for children in the Syrian province of Raqqah and the district of Heet in Iraq’s Anbar.
The tribal leader also said that the terrorist group brainwashes children in the camps and trains them how to conduct bomb attacks against military checkpoints and civilians.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said in June that the Takfiri group “conducts organized recruitment for children in 100 countries,” adding that the “exploitation of children for murder is a heinous crime.”
Daesh uses mustard gas in Iraq: Germany
Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND) said on Monday that it has collected evidence that the Takfiri group has used mustard gas against Kurdish fighters in northern Iraq.
German daily Bild quoted BND chief Gerhard Schindler as saying that the agency has “information that IS (Daesh) used mustard gas in northern Iraq.”
It was said that Germany’s foreign intelligence agency has reached the conclusion after collecting blood samples from Kurds injured in clashes with the terrorist group and examining them.
Iraq’s al-Sumaria satellite TV network quoted a source as saying on condition of anonymity in February that the Daesh Takfiri group has taken hold of large quantities of chlorine gas after they launched an attack against a major water treatment facility in the country’s northern province of Nineveh.
The terrorists have taken the chemical agent from the provincial water department, and transferred it along with large quantities of mustard gas brought from Syria to one of their hideouts in the area, the source said.
The terrorists also overran an industrial area known as Kokjali located on the eastern side of the conflict-ridden city of Mosul, and started manufacturing rockets filled with chemical agents to use against Iraqi forces, the source added.
In December 2014, the militants attacked the city of Khan al-Baghdadi, situated about 180 kilometers (110 miles) northwest of the capital Baghdad, with mortar shells loaded with chlorine gas.
The Takfiri militants also killed at least 300 Iraqi soldiers in a chlorine gas attack on an army battalion in Anbar province in September that year.
Daesh started its campaign of terror in Iraq in early June 2014. The heavily-armed militants took control of Mosul before sweeping through parts of the country’s Sunni Arab heartland.
