Iran keen to develop joint scientific projects with other countries: Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi said the country is ready to develop joint scientific and academic projects with other countries.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Farhadi pointed to his recent article published in the Science Magazine, saying that in the article he has explained about the situation of higher education in Iran and announced the countrys readiness to establish scientific cooperation with all countries.

Scientific diplomacy is on the agenda of the science ministry, he said, adding that the ministry is making efforts to implement joint scientific and academic projects with the cooperation of other countries around the globe.

More than 35 years since its revolution, Iran is embarking on a new era of international interaction and cooperation, Farhadi wrote in the editorial published in the Science Magazine on Friday.

Today, Iran is in a position to fine-tune its development model and move toward qualitative improvement of its science and technology, he said.

Iran plans to have big science projects, such as the Iranian National Observatory, which will bridge Iranian scientists with the international science community, the minister stated.
