Saudi Arabia must end claims against Tehran: Foreign Ministry

Iranhas criticized claims by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir against Tehran, saying regional countries, in particular Saudi Arabia, should stop policies that have already setthe region onfire.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham made the remarks on Sunday, stating that instead of making such claims, Iran'sneighbors should put awaypolicies that facilitate the acts of terrorist groups, trigger the wave ofrefugees inSyria and Iraq, and lead to the indiscriminate killing of innocent people in Yemen.

The Iranian diplomat alsocalled for the adoption of a realistic and constructive approach toward regional issues, which would help maintain peace and security for all.

Afkham once again reaffirmed Irans readiness to engage indialog and cooperatewith regional countries for the settlement of the existing crises.

Iran has always regardedthe policy of good neighborliness and expansion of ties with all neighboring countries as priorities in its foreign relations, the Iranian spokeswomansaid.

Afkham called forthe neighboring countries to turn to dialog instead of engaging indangerous military games.

On Friday, US President Barack Obama and Saudi King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz met in Washington. The Saudi foreign minister, Jubeir, claimed after the meeting that Iran is conducting nefarious activities in the region.
