Iran, Afghanistan discuss expansion of bilateral ties

Kabul, Sept 4, IRNA - Iranian Minister of Interior Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli in separate meetings with Afghan Minister of Interior Noor-ul Haq Ulumi, Refugees and Repatriation Minister, and Chief Executive reviewed with them bilateral relations and ways of increasing the ties between neighboring countries.

'The Islamic Republic of Iran regards the security of Afghanistan as it own secuirty and views as undeniable the trace of foreigners in Afghanitan's incidents and their Zionist roots in the region,' Fazli told his Afghan counterpart.
He said Tehran and Kabul have to cooperate more seriously in the fields of international security, nationals, and the fight againt terrorism, drug smuggling and human trafficking.
He also stressed cooperation in transit, mines, agriculture, and trade to improve living conditions of people which can secure sustainable security.
The Iranian minister expressed the hope that convention of the 6th summit of Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA-VI), in Afghanistan which is attended by 30 countries and representatives of 40 international organizations can lead to the development of infrastructures in Afghanistan.
Ulumi welcomed Iran's suggestions on increasing bilateral cooperation with Afghanistan and hoped for deepening of friendship between the two countries.
Also in the meeting with Refugees and Repatriation Minister Syed Hussain Alemi Balkhi, the Iranian minister called for the settlement of the issue of Afghan refugees saying that Iran's good intentions on hosting them will not terminate.
Balkhi thanked Iran for providing ecducation to the children of illegal Afghan refugees and its generous hosting of Afghans for the last 40 years.
In the meeting with Afghan Chief executive Abdullah Abdullah, Fazli said a new chapter in cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan will be registered by formation of the National Solidarity Government in Kabul.
He termed terrorism and extremism as main factors against cooperation and integrity of regional countries and stressed joint action to contain anti-Islamic and anti-humane acts.
Abdullah said Afghanistan is determined to use the opportunity of bilateral cooperation with Iran.
He also welcomed continued support of Iran to Afghanistan as well as the nuclear agreement between Iran and G5+1 group of world powers.
