Minister says Iran needs no foreign permission for protecting its security

Tehran, Aug 30, IRNA Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said on Sunday that the Iranian nation does not needs to get permission from any body for guaranteeing its security.

Speaking to a group of officials in a ceremony marking martyrdom anniversary of former president Mohammad-Ali Rajaie and former prime minister Mohammad-Javad Bahonar, Dehqan said the hegemonic system has concentrated all its efforts on bringing Iran under the most difficult conditions but the Iranian nation will eventually emerge triumphant.

He noted that Iranian armed forces, scientists and top defense experts are capable of meeting domestic needs despite constant threats.

He added, 'Under any condition, we will not allow any body or any country to tell us what to do, what to make, and what to test, or what a sort of war game to launch; the yardstick is only the will and decision of the Iranian nation.'

The minister said the 11th government's strategy is based on maximum interaction with the armed forces to raise national defensive power and guarantee deterrence, while activating the capacities of the armed forces so as to attain national development and to this end the government has over the past two years extended maximum support for the armed forces.'
