2400 green schools across the country: EPA official

Tehran, August 26, The Iran Project – There will be 2400 green schools across the country from the new academic year, says Director of Sustainable Development and Environmental economics office at the Environmental Protection Agency.

According to the memorandum of understanding concluded between the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Education, There will be 2400 green schools across the country in the new academic year, said Dr. Zahra Javaherian, director of Sustainable Development and Environmental Economics Office at the EPA at the unveiling ceremony of two green schools in Shahr Rey.

Saying a green school is where special instructions, including energy and water management, are trained, Javaherian also announced that environment teachers will attend the classes of the green schools.

Students should be taught which types of environmental investments are in danger and how they protect and preserve them for the future, she added.
