Ebtekar dismisses criticism over BBC interview

The director of Iran’s Environment Protection Organization, who has recently come under fire for giving an interview to BBC World in Tehran, has denounced the criticism as baseless and said that she would use all legal means at her disposal to convey the message of the Islamic Republic.
When asked why she gave the interview, Masoumeh Ebtekar said, “Firstly, I did not ask the BBC to interview me. Secondly, in the capacity of vice president, wherever I feel obliged to put a message across to the [global] audience, I just do it.”
