Iran’s N. activities not to be stopped, says Rouhani

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated that the country’s peaceful nuclear activities would never be stopped.

“Major powers which were the Islamic Republic of Iran’s interlocutors (during nuclear talks) well realized that Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities will never be ceased,” Rouhani said in the cabinet meeting.

He also said that Iran during talks with G5+1 could secure the rights of enrichment, and research and development for more advanced levels of the expertise as well as enjoying a place for these activities.

Iranian president said the country has sought removing all financial, banking, transportation and economic sanctions since the beginning of negotiations. “The goal has been obtained. The other side on the verge of implementing the agreements will explicitly announce lifting sanctions.”

Rouhani further called the issue a great achievement for Iran, adding that the other side is only insisted in suspending and lifting sanctions gradually.

On July 14, Iran and the G5+1 group reached a conclusion on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in the Austrian capital of Vienna after months of intensive talks over Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.
