No obstacle on way of Iran's missile program: Firouzabadi

Tehran, Aug 16, IRNA There is no obstacle on way of continuation of Iran's missile activities, Joint Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said on Sunday.

According to the office of Joint Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Firouzabadi noted that Iran's missile activities would face no obstacle and would continue according to the scheduled program.

After being approved in the related boards of policy making, the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will have the final vote on execution of any part of the missile program.

Some political groups and individuals inside Iran have expressed concern over imposing limitations on Iran's missile program after Iran and P5+1 signed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

The negotiating team have always stressed that the nuclear deal do not limit Iran's missile program.

On July 14, Iran and the P5+1 countries finalized the text of the agreement, dubbed the JCPOA, in the Austrian city of Vienna.

Under the JCPOA, limits will be put on Irans nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all economic and financial bans against the Islamic Republic.

The UNSC on July 20 unanimously adopted a draft resolution turning the JCPOA into an international law. All 15 members of the UN body voted for the draft UN resolution in New York, setting the stage for the lifting of the Security Council sanctions against Iran.
