Iranian Navy to be armed with new equipment, units

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Navy would be armed with new equipment and units including rocket-launcher, new destroyer and surface and sub-surface floating units during the current Iranian calendar year (which ends on March 20, 2015), said Iran’s Navy Chief, Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari.

He said that the measure showing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s self-sufficiency in providing naval equipment would surprise the world one more time.

Visiting different sectors of the electronic defense industries exhibition of Shiraz City, southern Iran, he said the equipment includes sonar and radar-related equipment, combat equipment to be used underwater, water surface, upper sea and coasts.

Sayyari continued that the equipment can be used inside rocket-launcher, destroyer, rocket-launcher war ships, submarine logistic warships and flight equipment.
