Iran not after centrifuges higher than IR8: Araqchi

Tehran, August 10, IRNA Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said in a parliamentary commission meeting on Monday that Iran has no intention to build centrifuge machines with higher capacities than its IR8 centrifuges.

'Presently, too, we are working on our IR8 machines and practically the research and development work in that field will take some 10 years. Meanwhile, one of the key redlines observed by Iran regarding the research and development field was that the research works on IR6 and IR8 machines must not be left unfinished, which is precisely included in the JCPOA,' he told MPs.
'We do not even have restrictions for manufacturing new machines and producing a single model of them, but in mechanical test and gas injection on machines higher than IR8, which we do not even intend to build, there are restrictions,' he added.
