Tehran, Aug 10, IRNA - The Parliament gave another yet symbolic yellow card to Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyebnia after he failed to convince lawmakers in respect to questions raised about the performance of his ministry.
Tayyebnia was summoned to the Parliament to answer questions in an open session on Sunday, the Tehran-based English newspaper Iran Daily reported.
From a total of 211 MPs who attended, 80 voted in favor, 105 against and 10 abstained.
The Majlis has summoned several ministers including the foreign minster, the interior minister, the intelligence minister and the science minister, for explanation over their performances since President Hassan Rouhani took office in August, 2013.
In the past, several ministers received yellow cards from the MPs.
The grilling and summoning of Rouhanis ministers by conservative and hard-line MPs has been unprecedented in the post-revolution era.
