Tehran, August 3, IRNA – Iran’s national B volleyball men’s team managed to beat the 4th Asian team in its fourth FIVB match, beating Thailand national team 3-nil.
In the 2nd round of the Asian FIVB Championship competitions played on Monday evening Iran, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Qatar, Australia, China and Japan are competing for the 1st to 8th Asian ranks.
The Iranian national B team in this 2nd round of the games faced Thailand in its 4th match in the 18th Asian Volleyball FIVB Championship, gaining its fourth 3-point victory and 12 full points.
The Iranian volleyballers won the match 25-20, 25-11 and 25-20 to secure their top place in their own group, in which they are also to face South Korea, and Taiwan for the 2nd time.
In their 5th match, the Iranian national B team will on Tuesday at 7 pm face South Korea.
Iran’s B team defeated Taiwan 3-0 on Sunday to remain on top of Group A of Asian Volleyball Championship and advance to the second round of the tournament.
The hosts beat their mighty rival in straight sets (25-16, 25-16 and 25-19).
In its two previous games, Iran had also defeated Kuwait and Kazakhstan both 3-nil.
With that win over Taiwan, Iran advanced to the second round without losing a set.
