Speaking in an interview with Al Alam Arabic language news network on Sunday evening, Amir Abdollahian emphasized that relations between Iran and Egypt have neither progressed nor regressed.

However, we have always welcomed the establishment of stable and constructive relations with Egypt, he added.

The conference came a few weeks after hundreds of Muslim scholars from various sects, including Shiites and Sunnis, and from 83 countries, including Egypt, gathered in Irans holy city of Qom to take part in an international conference on dangers of Takfirism (extremism).
