TEHRAN July 29(Shana)–Head of the Department of the Environment (DOE) says the reformate content of all the petrol produced inside Iran is zero.
Masoumeh Ebtekar said no reports have been submitted to the DOE saying that petrol with reformate content is being distributed in the country.
Since two years ago, euro-4 gasoline has been distributed in 8 major cities of the country and this trend is growing to cover more cities, she said.
“All the gasoline processed inside the country meets euro-4 quality standards,” Ebtekar said, adding the gasoline produced by Iranian refineries has no lead in it and the domestically processed gasoil has zero sulfur content.
Iran is to raise its euro-4 gasoline production to 24 million liters a day, up 4 million liters a day, in June, a top official said recently.
Saeed Mahjoubi, a top official with National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), said Iran is producing 62 million liters of gasoline, 20 million liters of which is euro-4 grade.
Abadan oil refinery is to account for the extra 4 ml/d of euro-4 gasoline.
Iran is distributing euro-4 gasoline in big cities in a bid to reduce air pollution.
