Salehi to attend Majlis National Security Commission

Tehran, July 28, IRNA – A senior Iranian lawmaker said here on Tuesday that Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi would attended the Majlis (Iranian parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission today afternoon.

Talking to IRNA, Deputy Head of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Sobhani-Nia underscored that Salehi is scheduled to

brief the parliamentarians on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Sobhaninia said yesterday that Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi had presented a new translation copy of the JCPOA to Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani.

He reiterated that the lawmakers had returned the previous translation of the JCPOA to the Foreign Ministry over what they said were a number of mistakes in the text, calling for a better translation.

The new translation will probably be given to Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission for further examining, Araqchi was quoted as saying by Sobhaninia.

Sobhaninia said because of some differences between two Majlis fractions over the selection of the members of a special commission tasked with scrutinizing the nuclear deal, the members of the commission are not likely to be selected tomorrow.
