Netanyahu hopes US to maintain sanctions against Iran

Despite a hypocrite approval of Iran nuclear deal in the UN Security Council, Tehran will have to make further concessions if Washington maintains its economic sanctions against the country, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in local parliament.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) On Monday, the UN Security Council voted unanimously toadopt UN Resolution 2231 insupport ofthe deal reached last week byIran and the P5+1 group, comprising China, France, Russia, the United States, Britain and Germany.
On a day when the ruler ofIran repeats again and again his intention todestroy the State ofIsrael, the UNs Security Council gives a stamp ofapproval toa country systematically violating Security Council resolutions and calling forthe destruction ofIsrael, Netanyahu said asquoted byThe Times ofIsrael onMonday.

He added that the nuclear deal brings war inthe region closer, despitethe oppositeclaims ofthose supporting the agreement.
They also say the Security Council vote is the end ofthe story, butthis is not true. So long asUS Congress sanctions are inforce, and remembering the US economy is 40 times larger thanIrans, Iran will need tomake concessions, the prime minister stressed.

The P5+1 international negotiators have been attempting toreach a comprehensive agreement withIran that would insure the peaceful nature ofthe country's nuclear program sinceNovember 2013, when an interim was signed.

On July 14, a final deal was struck inthe Austrian capital ofVienna afterover two weeks ofcontinuous talks and multiple extensions ofself-imposed deadlines.According tothe final text ofthe nuclear agreement, Iran will underno circumstances seek todevelop or acquire a nuclear weapon and, inexchange, will receive sanctions relief.

Israel's leadership has long opposed the agreement betweenthe P5+1 and Iran, warning that the concessions offered toTehran bythe six world powers endangered stability inthe Middle East.
