The Omaniforeign minister has hailed the recent conclusion of negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group of countriesover Tehrans nuclear program, saying the talks marked a turning point in global diplomacy.
Following 18 days of marathon talks in the Austrian capital city of Vienna over Tehrans nuclear program, Iran and the P5+1 countries - the United States, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany - reached a conclusion on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on July 14.
Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, who was talking to Omani Media, said the Vienna agreement came as a result of "soft" diplomacy and commitment to constructive talks based on mutual interests, IRNA cited reportsas saying on Thursday.
The Omani minister, whose country hosted a round of nuclear talks between Iran and the six world powers, said that there is no room for a diplomatic mistake in todays world, underscoring respect for mutual interests as a requisite forglobal convergence.
He further called for the settlement of problems facing the region with a view towardthe Vienna agreement as an example.
Alawi expressed hope that the crises in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Palestine would be resolved through diplomatic channels and based on mutual trust.
