Saudi invasion of Yemen, a disgrace to Islamic world: Official

Tehran, July 11, IRNA – Foreign Ministry Deputy for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said the Saudi Arabia attacks against the defenseless people of Yemen on the International Quds Day are a disgrace to the Islamic world.

Talking to IRNA on Saturday, he stressed that terrorism and Zionism were two faces of the same coin.

He said that the principal mission of extremist and terrorist groups today was to loot the Islamic countries from their assets and destroy the resistance axis against the Zionist regime.

The official said the double-standard treatment of the issue of terrorism by the US results in invigorating the Tel Aviv regime and further insecurity in the region.

Just minutes after the “humanitarian truce” in Yemen, Saudi Arabia resumed its air attacks against Sanaa.

There have also been reports about severe clashes in Yemen’s third largest city Taiz.

The U.N.-brokered pause in the fighting was meant to last a week to allow aid deliveries to the country’s 21 million people who have endured over three months of bombing and civil war.
