TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Public Relations Department General Ramezan Sharif reiterated Tehran's strong opposition to the inspection of the country's military centers.

"The excessive demands of the westerners in the nuclear talks to gain access to military sites is an illusion that will never come true," General Sharif said, addressing a ceremony marking the International Quds Day in the Northwestern city of Zanjan on Friday.

As it has been said many times any access to and inspection of the country's military and defense centers by stragers are the country' redlines and such permission will never be given to them, he reiterated.

"There is no doubt that the Iranian negotiating team will resolutely resist against the oppressive and illogical excessive demands of the westerners and it will protect the country's national interests and its deterrence and defensive power," General Sharif added.

Last month, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazzayeri underlined that no foreign national would ever be allowed to visit or inspect Iran's military sites.

"We reiterate that the permission will definitely never be issued for any kind of access to the military centers, even if it runs counter to the acceptance of the additional protocol (to the NPT)," General Jazzayeri said in mid-June.

He noted that the Iranian Armed Forces and the country's Air Defense System are tasked with safeguarding the country's interests and security, and said, "Foreigners' visit to defense and military centers as well as obtaining information about the related equipment and tactics is against the orders (of commander-in-chief Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) and also the demands of the entire Iranian nation."

General Jazzayeri underlined the need for vigilance in defending the Iranian nations' rights in different fields, and said, "No protocol should disturb our country's national security."
