Austria denies Iranian local agency report on Ashton invitation

Vienna, July 9, IRNA — The Austrian Foreign Ministry denied a report by the Tasnim news agency about an invitation of former European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton to a possible Iran nuclear agreement ceremony in Vienna.

The ministry’s spokesman Martin Weiss replied in a tweet message to the Tasnim report that there was ‘no such phone call and no invite.

”We are just hosting the talks, no more…invitations, ceremonies etc. is all up the parties,’ he went on to say. Iranian media outlets reported earlier the US and Iran had invitated Ashton to attend the final ceremony in the Austrian capital.
