Tabriz, East Azarbaijan prov, July 7, IRNA � Direct flight was launched between Tabriz, Iran and Izmir,Turkey, a local official said here Tuesday.

Director General of the provincial airports Mostafa Safaie told reporters on Tuesday that the direct flight will link Tabriz in north of the country to the city of Izmir in Turkey�s Aegean coast and vice versa.

The flight will take place weekly on Saturdays at 05:45 local time.

The Turkish Airline is to operate the flight.

Flights to Iraq and the UAE are presently active from the airport.
