7 int'l shipping lines resume traffic in Iran Shahid Rajaee port: official

Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan Prov, July 2, IRNA - An official at Hormuzgan Ports and Navigation Organization said seven international shipping lines have resumed their activities in Iran through the Shahid Rajaee port in south of the country.

The shipping companies included MESSINA, CMA CGM, PIL and WAN HAI, Mohammad-Ali Saeedipour told reporters in this southern Iranian province on Wednesday.

Since some of the sanctions against Iran's ports and navigation sectors have been suspended a year ago, the shipping companies resumed exchanges via the Iranian port, Saeedipour said.

A large liner belonging to the South Korean shipping company, HANJIN SHIPPING, docked in the Shahid Rajaee port, the largest Iranian container port, since two days ago, while the nuclear talks between Iran and the six world powers have reached its climax in Vienna simultaneously, said the official.

Also, South Korea's Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation and EVER GREEN LINE are to berth their ships at the Shahid Rajaee port in a near future, he added.

HANJIN SHIPPING is one of the world's top ten container carriers that carries one hundred million tons of goods in the international waters each year.
Shahid Rajaee port as the biggest trade port in Iran is located 23 km west of Bandar Abbas.
