Iran names its volleyball squad Vs Poland

TEHRAN, Jun. 25 (MNA) – Iran’s Kovac set out his list of 14 volleyballers to face the Polish team in Tehran.

Iran’s boss Slobodan Kovac released his list of the 14 members of the squad for the coming matches of Friday and Sunday in the seventh week of the 2015 FIVB World League. Iran is set to play against Poland on June 26 and 28 in Azadi Sport Complex.

The squad consists of Saeed Marouf, Seyyed Mohammad Mousavi, Farhad Ghaemi, Adel Gholami, Mojtaba Mirza Janpour, Mehdi Mahdavi, Abdolreza Alizadeh, Shahram Mahmoudi, Amir Ghafour, Mohammad Hassan Sanobar, Hamzeh Zarrini, Milad Ebadipour, Mehdi Marandi, and Ali Shafiee.

In the Year 2014, Poland and Iran met five times with three wins for Poland and two wins for Iran.

On June 21, the Iranian squad defeated the US, the champion of the 2014 round of the games in three straight sets (25–20, 25-21, 25–19), dealing them their second loss in this year’s season in Tehran’s Azadi stadium.

At the end of the sixth week, the US is on top of the Pool B table with 17 points, with Poland trailing close behind at 16 and Iran in third place with 13, while Russia is rooted to the bottom with only 2 points.
