Phase 19 refinery starts work

TEHRAN June 20(Shana)--The refinery of Phase 19 of South Pars gas field has started treating gas supplied by Phase 12 of the massive offshore gas reservoir.

The refinery started work two weeks ahead of schedule on Friday.

Phase 19 is among the second priority phases of South Pars.

Platforms in Phase 19 of the massive offshore South Pars gas field have seen 75% progress in construction, manager of Phase 19 at Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) said.

Mohsen Jazayeri recently said the priority in the construction of platforms is to build topdrive.

He said Platform 19A is 65% complete and 19B is 40% complete, adding that 19C is to be loaded out at Khorramshahr Yard.

Jazayeri said 19C is expected to start producing 1 bcf of gas in the next calendar year which would start next March.

Phase 19 development of South Pars is set to produce 50 mcm/d of sweet gas, 75,000 b/d of gas condensate, 400 tons a day of sulfur, 1.05 million tons a year of liquefied petroleum gas and one million tons a year of ethane.

This development phase was awarded by Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) to a Petropars-led consortium of Petropars Limited and Petropars Iran and IOEC in June 2010 under an engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) contract.

Petropars Limited and Petropars Iran are responsible for onshore installations and drilling operations.
