Senior cleric: Iran never bends to sanctions, threats

Tehran, June 19, IRNA Tehran substitute Friday Prayers Leader said here Friday that Iran is a powerful country and will never bend to threats, or under the pressure of sanctions.

Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Movahhedi-Kermani made the remarks in his second sermon of this week's Tehran Friday Prayers.

He said that although the imposed sanctions have created problems for our nation, but in spite of the enemies' hallucinations they have not at all paralyzed Iran.

'Our insistence on removing sanction is that we consider the sanctions as cruel, but the enemy should know that Iran thanks to its resistance economy and by taking advantage of its domestic capacities is able of stayig on its feet much longer than it can imagine,' the ayatollah continued.

He called on Iran's negotiating delegation that Iranians insist on removing cruel sanctions, because our religion teaching says that we should not accept cruelty.

The senior cleric added that Iranian delegation has strong support of people and that the US government needs the agreement more than us.

If the other side says that they should inspect military and security centers or interrogate our scientists and elites, they must understand that Iran is a powerful country and will never bent on such threats, or yield to such ilogical demands.

Ayatollah Kermani meanwhile quoted the Supreme Leader statement that Iran will never allow anybody to inspect its military and security centers or contact its elites or scientists.

He also appreciated the people's broad participation in the glorious funeral ceremony of martyred divers in Tehran.

Concerning the catastophic situation in Yemen, the ayatollah praised the Yemeni resistance and on the other hand condemned Saudis' bombardment of that poor, but pious antion.
