Tehran, June 17, IRNA – A parliamentarian delegation of Mexico attended Iranian Majlis open session on Wednesday.
The visiting delegation was led by Chairwoman of the Mexican Senate’s Foreign Policy Commission Gabriela Cuevas Barron.
The Mexican delegation arrived in Tehran on Sunday.
In December 2014, an Iranian parliamentary delegation, led by Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iranian Majlis, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, traveled to Mexico in the first official visit to the North American nation in 35 years.
Promotion of ties with Latin American countries has been among the top priorities of the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy over the past few years.
Tehran has close political and trade relations with Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador and Bolivia.
