Remaining nuclear issues has to conclude in reasonable time: Spokesman

Tehran, June 15, IRNA Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said Monday that the recent report of the IAEA secretary general had a key point which calls on remaining nuclear issues to be concluded within a reasonable period of time.

Speaking to reporters, Kamalvandi said that Yukiya Amano's reports had a positive point which was ignored by the media.

There was a new point in this report, Kamalvandi added.

The report said that the previous issues are not endless and need to be concluded within a reasonable timetable and this was the first time that such remarks were made, he said.

'We have repeatedly said that these issue have to be ended somewhere and now it is 12 years that these issues are being discussed,' Kamalvandi said.

Mr. Amano's remarks shows that Iran's insistence has worked, he added.

Asked about whether the venue of nuclear talks between Tehran and the six world powers will be changed, Kamalvandi said that Ministry of Foreign Affairs has to decide about this issue.

On meeting the June 30 deadline for reaching a comprehensive nuclear deal, Kamalvandi said Iran makes every effort to meet the deadline, but it is early to comment on extension of the time.
