Iran keen on cooperation with Norway on climatic changes

Tehran, June 16, IRNA Vice-President and Head of the Department of Environment Masoomeh Ebtekar said on Tuesday that the Iranian government is determined to strengthen the environment diplomacy in the region and the world.

Ebtekar, who is on a visit to Norway, told Norwegian Climate and Environment Minister Tine Sundtoft after a visit to the Centre for International Climate and Environmental Research (CICERO), that the National Fund for Environment Protection will be inaugurated and the approach to International Environment Exhibition will be corrected.

She said both projects will serve as an important mechanism encouraging the economic sectors.

She also urged Iran-Norway cooperation on climatic changes.

Sundtoft briefed Ebtekar on new green technology, including the technology used for operrating esalinations and greenhouse cultivation in desert regions, using solar energy.

CICERO is an independent research center associated with the University of Oslo.
