Concerning safeguards implementation in Iran, the agency continues to verify the non-diversion of nuclear material declared by Iran under its Safeguards agreement, the agencys Director General Yukia Amano said on Monday.
He made the comments in the Austrian capital of Vienna on the opening day of a four-day-long meeting of the UN nuclear watchdogs Board of Governors.
He, however, said the agency cannot provide credible assurance about, what he called, the absence of any undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran.
The agency "remains ready to accelerate the resolution of all outstanding issues," Amano said. "This can be realized by increased cooperation by Iran and by timely provision of access to all relevant information, documentation, sites material and personnel in Iran."
Iran has time and again said all its past and present nuclear activities have been peaceful.
Last month, Amano said a potential deal between Iran and international powers on Tehrans nuclear program should grant the agency a right to inspect the countrys military sites.
Iran and a group of international powers known as P5+1 - Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States and Germany are working to reach a final deal on Tehrans nuclear program by the end of June. The two sides reached a mutual understanding in April, which set the general guidelines for the final deal.

Senior members of the Iranian negotiating team, including Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, have also denied that Irans acceptance of the Additional Protocol to the IAEA Safeguards Agreement could enable the IAEA to inspect the military sites, saying it only provides the body with managed access to Irans non-nuclear sites.
