Iran, 5+1 to continue talks on nuclear deal appendices

Tehran, June 6, IRNA - Iranian deputy foreign ministers Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takhte-Ravanjchi concluded talks with US Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and European, Russian and Chinese counterparts consulting on drafting a final nuclear agreement and appendices.

The Iranian officials will return to Tehran on Saturday after two days of intensive meetings which will be followed by expert-level teams on supplementary material to the agreement.

Hamid Baidinezhad and Stephan Clement will lead the negotiating delegations.

During the sixth round of talks in Vienna, Iran and P5+1 group of world powers held two rounds of talks led by Araqchi and European Union Deputy Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmidt

After nine days of intensive work in Lausanne, Switzerland, Iran and the G5+1 reached an understanding on April 2 which laid the ground start drafting the final nuclear deal over Tehran's nuclear energy program ahead of a July 1 deadline.

Reading out a joint statement at a press conference with EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini in Lausanne, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said all the US, EU and UN Security Council sanctions against Iran would be lifted under the final deal.

The US State Department Spokeswoman Mary Harf has said that the remaining issues before signing the final agreement include access and a time schedule for rolling back of sanctions.
