TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national volleyball team captain Saeid Marouf said his team’s failure against the US in the 2015 FIVB World League was due to so many mistakes made by the Iranian players.
Iran lost to USA 3-1 (25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23) at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on Sunday in Pool B.
“First of all I want to say congratulations to the USA team. We started very badly in this tournament. I think we can play much better than we did today,” Marouf told in the post match news conference.
“We had a lot of mistakes,” he stated, adding, “We started to come back in the match in the third set … the USA team has better players and more experience.”
