Kuwait City, May 27, IRNA - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said here late Tuesday that holding negotiations with regional countries is a top priority of Iran's foreign policy.

Talking to IRNA, Zarif made the remarks on the sidelines of 42nd Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Kuwait City.

Pointing to the regional developments, Zarif emphasized the need for tackling the current challenges through joint efforts.

Regarding the escalation of tensions in the Middle East, Zarif said the regional countries are facing with different challenges and Daesh terrorist group are threatening all countries.

'We should accept to live together in the region and we cannot omit any country,' Zarif added.

'Due to the geopolitics of the area, we live together and we cannot decide not to be neighboring countries' he said.

'Today, we need to perform our work based on common ground and this is the message of Hassan Rouhani after being elected as president of Iran,' Zarif concluded.
