Iran has celebrated victory in the 2015 Asian Men�s U23 Volleyball Championship in Myanmar as the team breezed past South Korea in the final.

Under Peyman Akbari, Iran won the first edition of the Asian U23 meet with a 25-16, 25-21, 25-21 victory over the Koreans on Wednesday.

On its way to the final showdown, Iran had routed India, Qatar, the Philippines and Japan 3-0 before overcoming the struggling Chinese Taipei 3-2 in the semifinal.

The victory over Chinese Taipei had booked Iran a place in the FIVB Volleyball Men�s U23 World Championship, which will be held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on August 24-31.

In the battle for the third title, Chinese Taipei handed China a 3-1 defeat.
