Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said that proposition that the US Congress may review the final deal with Iran on its nuclear program could be used as political leverage during P5+1 talks.
VIENNA (Sputnik) – The proposition that the US Congress may review the final deal with Iran on its nuclear program could be used as political leverage during P5+1 talks, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told Sputnik on Friday.
“This bill already influences the situation. It can be seen in the commentaries of the Iranian side and in those public signals that the American side has been sending recently,” Ryabkov said.
He added that the initiatives are contradictory and create “destructive political context.”
“Therefore, saying that this bill will become an inseperable obstacle for the final agreement is wrong. But it will definitely be used as a tool to influence the situation; therefore, we lament that it happened, but it cannot be changed, and we will have to deal with it,” Ryabkov added.
