Kamalvandi: Iran response to Amano speculation will be legal action

Tehran, May 13, IRNA Iran will take legal action against Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano over his unlawful specualtion to sabotage Iranian nuclear talks with the western governments.

Spokesperson of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said that Amano is making political and media speculation to mar the current negotiations between Iran and the western governments on the nuclear dispute.

'Iran's response to Amano speculation will be legal action.'

He was responding to a question about statement made by IAEA Director-General Yukiya Amano on Wednesday.

Amano said that in case of comprehensive atomic agreement be signed between Iran and Group 5+1, the way for the IAEA inspector to visit Iranian military sites will be paved.

Kamalvandi said that Iran will not allow creation of a politico-psychological campaign in the course of nuclear negotiations.

He said that the Additional Protocol to Non-Proliferation Treaty has not specified inspection to military sites of the IAEA member states and Amano has made speculation to mar the trend of nuclear talks.

Kamalvandi said that the Charter of the United Nations specified sovereign quality of every government making military sites of the member states immune to foreign intrusion.

He said that the two sides are on equal footing in the nuclear talks, rights of both sides are respected under the international law and the governments sovereignty rights.
