Qom, May 13, IRNA � Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nuri-Hamedani said on Wednesday that Saudi Arabia is performing US orders and is a lackey of the global oppression.

'While serving as the servants of the global oppressor powers, the Saudis act quite contrary to the Qur'anic teachings,' said the Shi'ite source of jurisprudence while addressing a gathering of the officials of the nationwide mosques' artistic and cultural centers.

The grand ayatollah expressed regret that today the Saudis have totally abandoned Islam and Qur'an and are pursuing the path of becoming even a better servant of the global oppression than the racist Zionists.

'Saudi Arabia that considers itself the servant of the holy shrines in Mecca and Medina knows nothing about the depth of the Qur'anic teachings and acts even contrary to them,' said Ayatollah Hamedani.
