Rouhani: Immediate, real ceasefire needed in Yemen

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called for real and immediate ceasefire in Yemen.

“People in Yemen need medicinal and food aid. There must be a real and immediate ceasefire in Yemen,” Rouhani said in a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Masum here in Tehran.

“Yemen is not a regional or political issue, but it is a humanitarian issue for the regional countries and the whole world,” Rouhani said.

He also referred to terrorism in Iraq, and said, “Terrorism is a danger to the entire region. We arrived at a shared view that terrorism should be dealt with in the whole region. Expulsion of terrorists from Iraq and their presence in Syria has not ended the danger of terrorists.”
