Iran never backs down on demand for bans removal: MP

A senior Iranian lawmaker says the Islamic Republic will never change its positionon the need forthesimultaneousremoval of allanti-Iran sanctions imposedover Tehran'snuclear program.

Chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi saidMonday that Iran also sticks to its position on defendingnational interests andcontinuing itspeaceful nuclear activities.

The [Islamic] establishment will not retreat aniotafrom this fundamental principle, the Iranian legislator pointed out.

He further stressed the importance of acting vigilantly at the current juncture of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 countries to serve the Iranian nations interests.

Iran and the P5+1 group of countries -- the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany -- reached a mutual understanding on the parameters of a comprehensive agreement over the Islamic Republics nuclear program in Lausanne, Switzerland, on April 2.

The two sides are set to start a new round of expert-level talks in Vienna, Austria, on Tuesday. Representatives of Iran and the six-party nationsheld their latest round of three-day talks in Vienna in April in a bid to draft the text of a final agreement based on the mutual understanding reached in Lausanne.

Iran and the P5+1group have agreed to finalize a comprehensive deal on Tehrans nuclear program by the end of June.

Iran parliamentary delegations visit to Syria

Boroujerdi added thata delegation of Iranian parliamentarians would pay a visit to the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Tuesday.

He saidthe Iranian delegation is scheduled to discuss with Syrian officials the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly in Syria.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. The violence fueled by Takfiri groups has so far claimed the lives of over 222,000 people, according to the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) says over 7.2 million people have been internally displaced, and more than 3 million others have been forced to flee the country.
