Kerry: Iran must not have nuclear arms

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said May 7 that Iran is a destabilizing force that must not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

A framework agreement reached last month between Tehran and a group of six world powers limits Iran's nuclear capabilities in return for a lifting of international sanctions.

Saudi Arabia and its Persian Gulf neighbors fear Tehran might become capable of developing an atomic bomb despite the agreement.

Speaking in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, after talks with King Salman, Kerry said, "We made clear that we remain concerned about Iran's destabilizing actions in the region."

Saudi Arabia also says Iran armed the Huthi rebels in neighboring Yemen, but Tehran has dismissed the accusations as "utter lies."
