An Iranian Agriculture Ministry official calls for a boost in the agricultural cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan, urging joint efforts for the production of various grains.
Houman Fathi, the head of Iranian Agricultural Jihad Ministry’s department for international affairs, described cooperation in the production of crops such as wheat and oilseeds as “significant.”
Fathi told a trade delegation from Kazakhstan in Tehran that those Kazakh companies which cooperate with Iran on this will be more successful in business, Tasnim news agency reported Wednesday.
He also asked the delegation to step up such efforts for the export of Iranian produce so as a ‘good’ trade balance emerges between the two countries.
Last December, Kazakhstan’s Agriculture Minister Assylzhan Mamytbekov expressed Astana’s readiness to launch new projects and use Iranian expertise to develop them.
He announced this during a visit to Kazakhstan by Iran’s Minister of Agricultural Jihad Mahmoud Hojjat.
Hojjati in turn voiced Tehran’s readiness to help Kazakhstan in poultry, live-stock breeding and aquatic industries.
