Baeedi-nejad declares end of 200 hours of negotiations in New York

Tehran, May 8, IRNA - Director General for Political and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hamid Baeedi-nejad who heads the team of Iranian experts at the meeting with G5+1 announced end of 200 hours of negotiations in New York.

In a memo on his Instagram, he said the Iranian nuclear negotiators will have a very tough job in the upcoming round of talks in Vienna on cutting the number of brackets.

On Thursday after conclusion of the expert meetings, these rounds of nuclear talks in New York ended, he said.

In these round of talks there were significant negotiations between Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his US counterpart John Kerry and European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini, he said.

During nine days of talks at deputy ministerial level and eleven days at expert level each lasting about ten hours daily, the total hours could be sum up at about 200 hours, he said.

In these rounds of talks, the two sides reviewed various texts and approved parts of it and put points of discord inside brackets, he said adding that in the next round of talks the two sides will try to lessen the number of parenthesis in order narrow the gaps.

Next round of talks will kick off on Tuesday till Friday at deputy ministerial and expert levels in Vienna, he said.
