Iran to present policies to facilitate foreign investments

Iran says it plans to unveil a set of policies that have been specifically designed to facilitate foreign investments in the country during a conference that will be held in September.

Mohammad Fetanat, the president of the Securities and Exchange Organization of Iran (SEO), has been quoted by the media as saying that investors from a large number of countries will participate in the conference.

They, Fetanat added, will include people from the US as well as some European countries.

The official further emphasized that there has recently been a rise in the number of visits by foreign investors to Iran over the past few weeks, adding that they have held business-to-business meetings in Tehran and also met officials to discuss post-sanctions investments.

We believe the required mechanisms should be prepared from today to attract foreign investments, Fetanat has been quoted as saying by the Persian-language newspaper Iran.

This comes in light of the recent progress in talks between Iran and P5+1 over the Iranian nuclear energy program. The sides are currently working on the text of a final agreement that envisages the removal of some economic sanctions against Iran in return for certain restrictions by the country over its nuclear energy activities.

The prospects for the removal of anti-Iran sanctions have already triggered a rush by major trade delegations mostly from Europe - to the country.

On Sunday, a 100-member delegation from Poland arrived in capital Tehran to explore the avenues for investments in the Iranian market after the sanctions are removed.
