Iran nuclear talks on the right track: Russia

Moscow, May 5, IRNA – Russian Foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday that negotiations between Iran and the six world powers – Known as the P5+1 –are on the right track.

Lavrov was speaking during a joint press conference in Moscow with his Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz.

Lavrov said that both sides continue with their negotiations to resolve the remaining issues.

There are no reasons to predict that nuclear talks will be extended after a self-imposed June 30 deadline, Lavrov said.

However, he noted that if deemed necessary the two sides will give more priority to the quality of the agreements than meeting the deadline.

Lavrov said that intensive nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 are currently underway and are on the right track.
