Scores killed, wounded in Saudi air raids on Yemen

Scores of Yemeni civilians have been killed or injured in Saudi airstrikes in the western Yemeni province of Ibb as the Saudi aggression against itsneighboring country continues unabated.

According to Yemeni media reports on Monday, the Saudi airstrikes hit the Wadi Bani area and al-Saddah district in the province.

The reports also said at least three residential buildings were targeted in the airstrikes in the village of al-Mesqah in the district of al-Saddah, leading to the killing of several civilians.

The Saudi air assaultsalso targeted gathering centers of Yemens Ansarullah fighters in al-Saddah.

Late on Sunday, the Saudi jets carried out over thirty raids on theairport of Yemen'ssouthern city ofAdenwithin a few hours.

Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to the countrys fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi,who is a staunch ally of Riyadh. The strikes came in the wake of advances by Yemeni revolutionary forces, backed by Ansarullah fighters,

On April 21, Riyadh announced the end of the first phase of its military operation, but airstrikes have continued with Saudi bombers targeting different areas across the country in a new phase.

On Friday, the World Health Organization (WHO) said 1,244 Yemenis lost their lives and 5,044 others were injured from March 19 to April 27. Hundreds of women and children are among the victims, according to the WHO.

Saudi fighter jets also fired three missiles at theairport of Yemen'ssouthern city ofAden in the Yemeni province of Aden. The Saudi warplanes bombarded the provincial districts of Crater and al-Muallaas well.

There havebeen no reports on the number of casualties or the extentof damage in the Saudi air attacksin the province.
