Tehran, April 30, IRNA � Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said Iran's defense power provides backing to its negotiating team.




Talking to reporters at the sideline of a gathering here on Thursday, he asserted that the nation absolutely trusted the nuclear negotiating team, stressing that 'our defense power' will back them.

Saying that foreign and defense policies act as complementary to each other, the Major General said that when talks and logic are capable of removing threats, there is no need to use military forces.

Iran's defense power will act as a support for its political force, said the top military official.

The other parties involved in nuclear talks with Iran are counting on the negotiations because they believe now that they are not capable enough to enter a war, they should at least try to protect their interests through talks, stressed the official.

Defense power will have positive effect on negotiations, he added.

When a foreign minister has the support of the country's defense system, he talks in a more powerful and determined tone, he noted.
