Tehran, April 28, IRNA - President Hassan Rouhani said here on Tuesday that resolving Iran's nuclear issue is the first step to overcome basic obstacles.




President Rouhani made the remarks in a national ceremony to hail Iranian workers.

He stressed that the Iranian government is fully trying to settle Iran's nuclear issue.

'We want to prove to the world that ill-wishers have lied to the world about Iran's nuclear program,' President Rouhani added.

'According to the fatwa (religious decree) issued by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on the prohibition of nuclear weapons, Iran is seeking peaceful nuclear technology and not the destructive bombs,' he said.

President Rouhani underscored that the sanctions mechanism is on the verge of collapse.

A national ceremony to hail Iranian workers opened in Tehran in the presence of President Rouhani on Tuesday.

This is the 26th national congress to appreciate the Iranian workers which is being held at the beginning of the Labor Week.

Several high-ranking Iranian officials accompanied President Rouhani during the event.
