Fresh Saudi attacks kill 4, injure 8 in Yemen’s Ma’rib

Two foreign war planes crash in Yemen.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Saudi warplanes pounded residential areas in Yemen’s province of Ma’rib on Monday, leaving 4 people dead and 8 others injured.

The kingdom’s airstrikes targeted civilian areas in al-Zour district in Ma’rib and claimed the lives of 4 people.

The attacks also injured eight civilians.

Earlier today, the Saudi fighter jets also struck residential areas in Yemen’s Lawder city, Abyan province, killing dozens of civilians.

Saudi Arabia launched its bombing campaign against Yemen on March 26 in an attempt to restore power to fugitive President Mansour Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

On Tuesday and after four weeks of bombings, Riyadh declared end to military operations in Yemen, but Saudi warplanes are still bombing residential areas across the war-ravaged nation one week after.
